Hi everyone,

We will soon have a beta ready for the forthcoming 3.4 update, so current beta participants may see this notification in Sense app soon.

This beta will be a little different in that there will not be a dramatic amount of new features that will be obviously visible. Instead, this update brings a significant amount of back-end changes that affect the operating system on quite a core level, opening up more potential for future features.
Updates like this can be prone to regression however, so with this beta we primarily would like feedback regarding a lot of the existing features and interface to make sure they are still carrying on as normal, or if you notice any interruptions to functions that were previously fine.

That said, there will still be some new features, including:

  • Allow Search within a Playlist
  • Allow Sorting Playlist Tracks
  • Allow multi-select actions for tracks in Playlist Page
  • Improve Playlist Edit for playlists with more than 500 tracks
  • Allow to limit PCM Sampling Rate to more values
We are working on plenty of other features too including the large task of our forthcoming Classical Mode, but we need to test the core low-level changes first.

Please take all of the above into consideration when prompted with the beta update option, and choosing whether to proceed or not. If proceeding with the beta update, we would greatly appreciate any before/after feedback that you can offer!!

Thank you!

A reminder of the advised structure for feedback, and considerations for anyone still wanting to opt into the beta participation:

  • Whilst we perform our own internal testing before going to public release, there are chances of still having glitches that may even potentially may stop you from being able to listen to your music. You may have to live with this for a few days until the situation is resolved.
  • Once you have installed a beta version, you will not be able to revert to your previous version. You will, naturally, be able to install the final release version with no intervention from Innuos.
  • Make a backup before applying the Beta to ensure you data is fully safeguarded.
  • Continually using your system as you normally would still helps to ensure that existing features remain working well, however we do ask that you attempt to test all new features proposed in the beta where possible.
Applying for Beta

  • Start a conversation with our QA manager. To do this, click on the mail icon on the top right of this page and click on “Send direct message”. Choose “Angelica” or myself (Stephen) as recipient.
  • On Subject, please use “Application for Beta Tester”. Let us know your name and the serial number for your unit.
  • Once you get a response from QA that it has been enabled, go to Sense > System > Update and the beta version should be available there for testing

While I'm not in the beta channel for testing as I like to have a stable music system; want to show my appreciation for this update.
These are pretty much if not all the basic features (at least for me) that were still missing.
With the sampling rate limiter one can safely buy into DSD now and not have to convert them to, for example, 24/192 or buy 2 separate formats.
Maybe there's people out there who want more features but again some appreciation for how well the features are integrated each time.
It really feels like my Zenith mk3 is a whole new streamer from when bought (with version 1.4.2 I think?)

Appreciate the feedback @iSP , that's very kind of you and glad you are happy about the forthcoming changes! Indeed, with the overall release and evolution of Sense, i do like to think that owners of Mk3 units from 4 or 5 years ago that their experience today really is completely different (much better!) to when they first purchased.
