We’ve received a few reports from users experiencing similar issues with Qobuz, where certain tracks fail to play. The affected tracks seem to be random, but once identified, they tend to consistently fail on those systems, even though they play without issue via the Qobuz app on a phone or tablet.

This is not isolated to our platform, as other brands such as Naim, Roon, Wiim and more have all reported similar behaviour on their own support threads. This will be related to ongoing infrastructure changes on Qobuz’s side.

We’re looking into this.

A quick update on this.

We have identified the source of the playback errors: it is a caching anomaly with our CDN provider.

In practice, some distribution servers are hosting a corrupted or incomplete file. Since each audio quality corresponds to a separate recording, switching quality often allows you to fall back on a healthy file and work around the issue.

Our teams are currently listing the affected tracks and carrying out a gradual cache purge. The situation should be resolved very shortly.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

The Qobuz Team
We’ll share a further update as soon as we hear more.

Hi I have the same problem as described here with playback of Qobuz (random) tracks.
I have noticed one thing that no one else have mentioned: on my InnuOS devices (Pulsar & Statement NG) the problem only occurs on High-Res tracks !
It has persisted for weeks now quite annoying
For some tracks the problem has occurred an then later disappeared, for other it has persisted (try: Veronika Rud, album: Nothing, track: sang om håb)
Your track in my system is reproduced without problem

I took up the issue with Qobuz, they just reiterated the information Dan has provided so far. They did suggest switching quality may yield a solution and not surprisingly played down the extent of the problem.

Hi Luigi61
I can not explain why but I can still not play the track “Sang om haab”
Maybe the cause is not the same ?
I have experienced different behaviors from different tracks (HI-RES)
This morning I cannot paly it as well. This is a mistery!
These days, I realize just how vulnerable streaming music is.
Fortunately, I still have all my CDs and vinyl records!

Hi Luigi and all

Today I took contact to Qobuz explaining my experiences with failing tracks I am now waiting until Costumer Support mails me, doing this I made a playlist with 9 random HD Tracks that would not play but skip instead. All this was this morning.
By now at evening all those 9 tracks has come back to be playable again.
I hope this means Qobuz has put some resources in getting back to deliver HD tracks reasonable reliable again.

Hope this means this tread can come to an end soon

I can confirm that this evening, at least in the last 6 hours, I didn’t have any skipping track.
Finally I can relax listening to my system :)
