InnSights: What's new with 3.2

Perfect job! Really cool the screen info implementation. Also the UPNP server always on is a great adition.

2 cents of thought:
1.- He used to have profiles (Linn and Naim are the ones I used) for UPNP devices, and they don't exist any more. They where very helpful
2.- How can we identify duplicated albums easier, maybe filter by bitrate, etc to be able to "clean" up our library
3.- Maybe a Last.fm implementation
4.- The Beatles as an artist comes out with a strange photo, maybe we should be able to "pull" the photo from last.fm or similar and not have to upload the photo ourselves
5.- Could it be posible to have an "always on" roon end-point AND ALSO be able to use sense

Amazing job in general! Had the innuos for less than a month and am very very (very) happy with the result (and I was using prior to the innuos, Roon > That says a lot!)

Hi ghu2209

looks weird! I can see / reach my music (see bellow, when I choose an album) but each time I try to play it, the same message appears : do you get the same?
Info : I only play music from the included SSD (no use of external SSD/HDD nor NAS etc.)
Hello Verbal Klimt
I can play from internal disk/SSD without problem. Only external NAS wont work, also internetradio does not work.

my NAS works fine. Have you tried going to settings and making sure you have a "connection". More than once I've had to hit recconnect and then it works flawlessly (specially after turning something off)

Hello Jason,
Yes, I have connection, I can also see all the folders and files.

Hello
I found out, that I can not play mp3 files! since on my NAS I mostly collected mp3, I can not play mp3. I have some wav and flac there - and I can play them.
On local disk in ZEN there are maily flac-files, I can play. Some mp3 there I also can not play!!.
Maybe that is also the cause, why Internetradio does not play - maybe they use mp3-streams

Hi Stephen - I've not updated to 3.2 yet as I've been waiting to see general feedback and comments.

Couple of questions re: Shared Folder visibility - this is a really important thing for me - I access my folders every day to drag and drop albums - and to refine & amend album information via mp3tag, which allows me to make bulk changes to albums and/or tracks which Sense doesn't have the functionality to do)

- you've outlined that Username & Password access are now required for (Windows 11) - is this also required for Mac OS users such as myself ??

- is the Username & Password entry a one-off requirement ... ie is it saved when the laptop/desktop is shut down and powered on again, to avoid logging in each time you want to access the folders

My system is very simple - just a Zen Mini 3 & Naim Atom + speakers ... I use the Naim Atom app to play my albums (accessing Mini via ethernet / UPnP as a NAS server) ... will I have to make some changes on my Naim after installing 3.2. ... i.e. are you saying I have to enter Username & Password somewhere in the Naim app to be able to access the Mini ??

As always - thanks for your really useful heads up on the new facilities includes in the new release

Best, Julian
Hi Julian,

I believe on Mac that if you connect as a Registered User it would retain the credentials, but let me know if that is not the case.
To clarify, the username and password will be required for all systems that need direct file access; the reason they've been introduced in the first place was to the benefit of Windows 11 machines that helped make the server more visible in the first place.
However in the case of the Naim app, no, there is no username or password requirement. The naim just communicates to the UPnP server element of the Innuos, and this does not need a login.

Mp3 playback of local files should be fine - I have just tested this. Is your collection of mp3 files in a separately mapped folder, or all just part of the same monitored folder with all your FLAC and WAV?

Hi Stephen, they are sorted in different sub-folders in the Mani-folder Music. In the screensoht all folders contain mp3 except "Klassik-flac"

I can reach the mp3 via search or by drectly going to the folder.
On the internal drive: When I click a track, the time-counter also starts to run but I hear no music.
on the NAS: When I click a track, the time-counter does not start to run
clicking a flac works immediately and starts playing on both drives?🙈🤷‍♂️

Thanks for Sense 3.2.1
unfortunately it did not help with the mp3 issue and with internet-radio😖😥😢

Thanks Stephen thats really helpful (also your reply to my fb post re: backups) ... I didn't want to update until I got a bit more certainty on these two points. I'll let you know how I get on :)

I saw that 3.2.1. is now released and just updated - as I hadn't already updated to 3.2.0. on Thursday, then the update process ran in 2 parts - first it loaded 3.2.0. - restarted - then resumed the update process, loading 3.2.1.

... However after updating to 3.2.0. and restarting the Innuos device, the app briefly loses contact with the Innuos device during restart (I was doing it on OS Mac web browser) ... this appears to cause the app to crash displaying the following screen (attached)
4CB40158-8382-4D5B-BDC5-DE99F0E20F33_1_201_a.jpeg
... its important to just follow the instruction at this point and press "RELOAD" [DONT CLOSE THE APP OR SWITCH OFF THE INNUOS DEVICE] ... eventually the update window re-appears and the 3.2.1. update process continues from its previous "50% completed" position ... and after a big sigh of relief eventually finishes.

... I think the whole update process took about 15 minutes - with fingers crossed at that 50% point !!

It might be worth doing a Community post about this for people going straight to 3.2.1 (or later) as I dont think users would normally expect that the update would appear to fail halfway through ... best to be informed in advance

Good night together
I dont know what happened after installing 3.2.1, but now I can play mp3 from NAS and internal drive.
Now also Internetraddio are working
and: backup to attached USB-drive is working.
It seems like a wonder but everything is fine now.
Thank you Innuos team

I have posted about a couple of issues with Sense 3.1 and streaming via UPnP to my Naim NDS and 1st generation Mu-so endpoints. Here are my observations regarding these issues after implementing the 3.2.1 update.

  1. Under Sense 3.1, when playback resumed after a pause, the track would restart at the beginning rather than at the point at which it was paused. This problem seems to be solved (y).
  2. Under 3.1, DSD playback had poor sound quality and a very noticeable amount of white noise. Under 3.2.1 with DSD support turned on, DSD files don't play at all. The track timer counts up to 9 seconds (without any sound) and then loops back to the beginning. :( This applies only to the NDS, as the 1st gen Mu-so does not support DSD.
  3. When a track starts on the Mu-so, the volume is always at zero. Once set, the volume will stay at the same setting as consecutive tracks of an album are played. However, if the track is paused and restarted, or if a different track is chosen, the volume again goes back to zero and needs to be reset. :censored: Not a problem with the NDS.
  4. Under 3.2.1, Qobuz will only work if the option to "Display track data on streamer display" is turned off in the configuration. When this option is turned on, nothing will play from Qobuz and no information is actually displayed on the streamer.

A few observations on UPnP through 3.2.1:
- On my Yamaha AVR (A3070), it works well in compatibility mode, but a few quirks in track management: it does not like it when I advance the cursor (gets confused and then may refuse to stop or pause) and when I pause, resume goes back to the beginning of the track. Without compatibility mode, gapless does not work for Qobuz streaming and the display is limited to "streaming from LMS", no track info anymore.
- On my Oppo 205, it is unusable: in compatibility mode it loses connection after a few seconds, and/or plays random tracks. Without compatibility mode, it still is very erratic with a tendency to lose the connection. When it works, it is not gapless whether for local tracks or Qobuz. So also hardly usable. In 3.1, it worked better withe the profile that you had developed on the basis of the Devialet Phantom (had some issues, but much better than now). I hope you can restore functionality for the Oppo 205...

I've noticed another glitch since my post of a couple of days ago.

As is my habit, I backed up my Zen Mk 3 server before updating to 3.2.1, which occurred without problem. However, I noticed this evening that the Zen can no longer find the USB backup drive. There's nothing wrong with the drive; if I connect it to my computer, Windows 11 has no trouble finding it. Has anyone else noticed this?

I was in Holiday so my reply ist a little Bit late. During friday nicht i started a Backup on an USB Drive and ist looked good. But on saturday morning i could Not reach the Zen any more. After unplugging from Power i cannot reach IT. I kept IT running Till today but nothing Changes. I took IT from Power, unplugged USB Drive and restarted. No contact in the App. I am helpless what to do.

seems to be a hardware problem, no problem of Sense software, dont be worried about Sense 3.2.1👍
