STREAM Series Megapost

I can't recall which one, but i did raise the question on another thread if users would indeed be interested in this very feature; an ability in Sense to set the speed of the LAN port. In principle if set to 100mb mode, there would be less intensity on the chip of Ethernet stage so would reduce high frequency noise in turn. You could experiment forcing this on the router side and see if you can observe a difference.

Has it been confirmed there is a noticeable improvement when limiting the LAN connection to 100MB when streaming from a Stream1?

I own an ASUS GT-BE98 Pro wireless router that has 4 ea. 2.5GB LAN ports and 2 ea. 10 GB LAN Ports. (One of the 2.5GB ports OR one of the 10GB ports must be configured as WAN). My router does have QOS if I enable it, which I have not done, but I can't tell if I can set QOS for a specific LAN port. I wouldn't want to limit all the LAN ports. If I can limit QOS to a specific 2.5GB LAN port when streaming and disable when backing up or uploading, I would consider it, if there is an improvement. As far as I know, QOS may only apply to the internet connection and not the LAN ports.

I have an available 2.5 GB LAN port on my router plus an available Netgear 5 port 2.5 GB unmanaged switch. A direct connection to my router would be preferred if I want to limit speed and my ASUS router supports it by LAN port. It will take a 75 foot CAT 6a cable run to go from the ASUS GT-BE98 Pro. I already have a 10 port 1 GB switch in my AV cabinet. My Synology NAS supports 10GB and both my Windows desktop and MacBook Pro support 2.5 GB.

Having control from the Stream1 would be easier and could be my only option.

Thanks.
