Stay tuned for more! New series of music streamer/servers

CAD, US, UK, and EUR pricing was shared with dealers a couple of weeks ago so you may see some online listings with Canadian dealers already.
The base Stream1 will be $3,800 and the base Stream3 will be $9,800

Hello @Stephen Healy,

Coming now from a Zenith Mk 3 with a PhoenixUSB and a PhoenixNET, as I look into the future horizon of the upgrade paths that Innuos now offers within the modular NextGen (NG) series, can you kindly confirm the following 2 facets, when upgrading from a Zen NG to a future Zenith NG:

Q1. Can the upgrade from a Zen NG to a Zenith NG be performed completely by my local Innuos dealer, or, does the dealer have to ship the Zen NG back to you (i.e., at Innuos headquarters) to have this upgrade performed and re-certified as a Zenith NG?

Q2. How much does this upgrade cost, going from a Zen NG to a Zenith NG? Will this price remain locked-in for Zen NG owners, or, is this price subject to change (drift over time)? And, if the answer to Q1 above requires the shipping from my dealer back to Innuos HQ for the Zen NG to Zenith NG upgrade, does the end-user have to pay for this intra-office shipping?

Use-case details: I am already located in the EU, so no new "trade tariffs" (or VAT's) would come into play for my particular situation.

As you can ascertain, knowing the details of these nuances will help guide my (and others') future purchase decisions. Thank you very much.

Kind regards, Edward

I'll respond to this under a new thread in Product Chat

The STREAM1 and STREAM3, along with the ZEN and ZENith Next-Gen models, all have a user-accessible bay to install your own SSD. It's an easy process. We have instructions for the Next-Gen models in the knowledge base, and I am sure the process will be pretty much identical for the STREAM1 and STREAM3.

Here are the specs for the two DACs:
Standard DAC Board
  • Adds RCA analogue output, plus optical and coaxial SPDIF outputs.
  • Supports PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Performance DAC Board
  • Features the latest AKM DAC chip and high-quality TCXO clocks.
  • Supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and Native DSD up to DSD512.
  • Includes independent power supplies for digital and analogue stages.
  • Features high-quality gold-plated RCA connectors.
I read somewhere that a 3rd DAC option will be available later in the year. If this is correct, will it be an improvement over the Performance DAC?

There will be 3 DACS:
Standard DAC: This is broadly the same board as what is found in the ZENmini Mk3 and PULSEmini, but with better PSU implementation so it will perform better on Stream series.
Performance DAC: A new DAC output module using a latest-gen AKM chip, with separately powered analogue and digital stages. Can decode 32/768 and Native DSD. Uses TCXO clocks and has RCA unbalanced outputs. Again, it benefits from the relative power supply stage found in Stream1 and Stream3 with its own independent rail.
PhoenixDAC: A high-end DAC that will only work with Stream3, and actually consists of 2 boards since there will be an accompanying power regulation stage that exists just for this DAC. Dual-mono AKM chip with OCXO 3ppb main clock plus two FemtoClocks. Balanced XLR + unbalanced RCA outputs.

Dealers have been sent the product details and the retail prices. They will be receiving more information very, very soon!
Still nothing from BE dealers :(
Are they waiting for the Munich event and announcement of other products (Nazaré)? I assume dealers want to publish all in one go and are still bound by embargo on Nazaré?

All official dealers were sent pricing a few weeks ago, perhaps your dealer has just not yet updated their website. Heres another Belgian dealer with updated pricing - https://www.widescreenaudio.be/en/product-category/audio/brands/innuos/?orderby=price-desc

The Stream3 with a strong internal DAC, might be just what many people have been waiting for, a one box solution. Hopefully, the PhoenixDAC and it power supply will all be inside of the Stream3 chassis. To be clear, the coming PhoenixDAC and its power supply will not be in an outboard chassis like the PhoenixUSB and PhoenixNet? Thank you.

The PhoenixDAC does come fit inside of the Stream 3 chassis. Because of the extra complexity and space it requires, this option is only available with the Stream 3 and isn’t compatible with the Stream 1.

I'm still drafting the 'megathread' which will go into more detail, but am conscious i said i would reply today so will have to give very quickfire and short answers:
Generational benefits of Stream vs Mk3 are all on the website; faster, better chassis, modular, optional storage, better PSU, IR control.
External PhoenixUSB still has the edge, so hang to it if you already have one unless you want to downsize and declutter with less boxes and cables.
Stream3 uses very similar PSU to PULSAR.
I cannot quantify sound differences, but its of course decent improvement and markedly so if using the output module.
Prices will be shared by this time tomorrow.

Stephen, I appreciate that you have probably been very busy! But did you manage to get round to completing the mega thread or have I missed it? Many thanks in advance.
