No specific plans for a light mode at the moment, but worth considering!
As for lockscreen controls, this has been frequently requested in the past so we're aware of its popularity, it just comes with a few technical challenges we'd need to overcome. Most lockscreen controls relate to an app where the phone itself can be the main player, which is not the case with Sense. It's certainly something on our radar but we won't have a solution for in the short-term.
