Sense 3.4 Beta Testing

After updating to 3.4, local playlists no longer work: I get the message "Playlist not found". I tried restarting and shutting down the system then restarting it, but all my local or mixed playlists are "not found". Qobuz playlists still work. This is on my Zen Mini mk III. I have not yet updated the Zenith mk III but will wait... This happens whichever control I use: web interface or iOS app...
Just a quick update for you, I did a session with Tony to grab a copy of his database. I noticed during that you can still play the playlists you're unable to access, which is good news overall. Just select the play button for the time being whilst we work on a solution.

Thanks. Good to know, indeed. I also have 3 playlists out of 46 that work. They are all under 30 tracks but some shorter playlists do not work so hard to tell what they have in common…

Regarding the bug, as mentioned prior I did a session in order to get more information and retrieved a users DBs so we could reproduce the issue on our side. We've been able to do so and preliminary reports point for it to be an error that affects playlists with tracks scanned from more than 3 years or so ago. This will explain why it does not effect all of your playlists.
We will patch this in a future beta update.

I hope that you have found a fix but I’m not sure what you mean by “scanned”. If you mean playlists compiled more than 3 years ago then that wouldn’t explain why two of my playlists are “not found” as they were compiled from scratch only in the last two weeks. If you mean tracks which have been on the server or NAS for longer than three years then that doesn’t apply either as the playlists which do work all contain tracks from at least that long ago.

A reminder of the advised structure for feedback, and considerations for anyone still wanting to opt into the beta participation:

  • Whilst we perform our own internal testing before going to public release, there are chances of still having glitches that may even potentially may stop you from being able to listen to your music. You may have to live with this for a few days until the situation is resolved.
  • Once you have installed a beta version, you will not be able to revert to your previous version. You will, naturally, be able to install the final release version with no intervention from Innuos.
  • Make a backup before applying the Beta to ensure you data is fully safeguarded.
  • Continually using your system as you normally would still helps to ensure that existing features remain working well, however we do ask that you attempt to test all new features proposed in the beta where possible.
Applying for Beta

  • Start a conversation with our QA manager. To do this, click on the mail icon on the top right of this page and click on “Send direct message”. Choose “Angelica” or myself (Stephen) as recipient.
  • On Subject, please use “Application for Beta Tester”. Let us know your name and the serial number for your unit.
  • Once you get a response from QA that it has been enabled, go to Sense > System > Update and the beta version should be available there for testing
Reporting an Issue

When reporting a suspected issue, we’ll need as much detail as possible so please submit under the following structure:
1. Summary
[A brief overview of the issue, bug, or feedback.]

2. Steps to Reproduce
[Include specific actions taken before encountering the issue.]

3. Expected vs. Actual Result
Expected: [What you expected to happen]
Actual: [What actually happened]

4. Device/System Information
Platform: [PC, Mac, iOS, Android, etc.]
OS & Version: [Windows 11, macOS 14, iOS 17, etc.]
Browser/App Version: [If applicable]

5. Additional Notes
[Optional: Screenshots, logs, suggestions, or other relevant details.]

If you find an issue while beta testing, please check this thread first in case it has already been reported. If that’s the case, click on the “Like” as that will give us an idea of how many are experiencing the issue.
Dear Stephen,

1. Summary
[Moving song(s) in the playlist is too difficult.]

2. Steps to Reproduce
[Click 3-dot menu | Edit Playlist
Supposingly, I have 100 songs in a playlist. If I need to move an item 99 to 98, I need to scroll down to the song no. 99, click a check box, scroll up to click the "Move" command, then scroll down to the bottom of the playlist to move a song to. This is too complicated.]

3. Expected vs. Actual Result
Expected: [anything easy compared to the previous version]
Actual: [The beta version is complicated.]

4. Device/System Information
Platform: [iPadOS, Android, macOS]
OS & Version: [macOS 15.6.1, iPadOS 18.6.2, etc.]
Browser/App Version: [3.4.0-2 BETA]

5. Additional Notes
[The new "Move" function is good as it can move a bulk of songs at the same time.]

Installed Beta 3.4.0-3. The Show All button now works to show all albums BUT the albums cannot be played. Once the Show All button has been clicked/selected, clicking on any of the revealed albums has no effect. The revealed albums are not playable.

We've identified this and in process of solving - thanks for the report.
