Dear All
I recently and successfully transferred music files from my iMac to the ‘music’ folder in ‘Zenmini’ on my iMac.
However, today, I am not able to do so.
I have followed the Innuos guidance, from Finder and ‘Go’ opening Network and choosing Zenmini folder. Today, I am not being asked for a username and password for the Zenmini folder. I am classed as a ‘guest’ and not able to transfer new music files to Zenmini.

Has anyone else had the same problem or have advice about how to resolve this problem?
I have tried re-starting both my iMac and my Zen Mini

Thank you
Nick

OK. I have answered my own question. Re the ‘Zenmini’ folder in Mac. I’d made a rookie error and realise now that i cannnot drag and drop music files directly into ‘music’. I have to click open ‘music’ to reveal the subfolders first. Then I can drag and drop.

My question is why are you moving it to the "Music" folder directly? Rather than using the Auto Import folder and feature?

Ever since innuOS 2.0 / Sense release, moving things directly into the Music folder did become an option, because the library would update itself in real time.

The import process and folder structure used to be quite a bit more rigid on innuOS v1; a manual re-index was needed every time any files/folders changed, and Imports used to re-organise files based into different folders based on quality (with folders for Compressed, CD Qualty, and High Res). Some users did not like this, so then we had two types of import, 'Full' and 'Quick' but this just added confusion.

Now, none of this really applies anymore and you are quite free to structure things how you want in the Music folder, and the library will react in real time with no re-indexing required. We took a lot more of a hands-off approach.

This does make Auto-Import a little redundant these days, whereas before it was definitely the best way to bring new music into the system if copying and pasting across from your PC (it analysed the files, organised them, initiated an index at the end, etc).

One thing that Auto Import can do, however, is process music that is kept in a ZIP file which is very often the case with online music purchases. The ZIP file can be copied into the Auto Import folder, and the system will unzip and process the music for you, rather than the user having to do this themselves manually on the PC first.
