STREAM Series Megapost

Hello guys I have a Pulse mini paired it with a Sean Jacobs DC 3 psu for the past 2 years. Wondering what if anything this new Stream 1 would bring to my table?
Why was the Pulse range stopped so soon? Perhaps Innuos weren't making enough money. The price of the Stream 1 is shocking!
As outlined in the original 'megapost', STREAM series combined the functional and performance elements from both PULSE series and ZEN Mk3 series. If we had kept PULSE series then this would have been very confusing, and the PULSE and PULSAR in particular would have been quite redundant against STREAM1 and STREAM3. We did actually consider whether to keep the PULSEmini a bit longer, solely based on its price point, but this would only have added to the confusion around the new product line-up with some models discontinued whilst others remained from the same range, etc.
The STREAM1 would be considered an upgrade over the PULSEmini - it's CX power regulation is a sound quality improvement, along with all the other functional benefits as outlined in the original post. That said, if none of those new features are of benefit to you, then no problem in sticking with what you have!

My Innuos STREAM3 has now arrived after a near 2 month wait. Apparently there was a problem with the Aluminium chassis components which are made in the UK. My STREAM3 is only being used as a transport with local streaming from internal storage. Early days but I have been suprised by the influence the STREAM3 has had on the overall sound of my system - all in a good way.
One thing I recently noticed with UK retailers is the wide range of cost in having STREAM1/3 supplied with internal storage. As an example, the additional cost of a 2TB module ranges from £350 - £1000. I bought & fitted my own 2TB module - cost £180 plus about 15 minutes of time.

The cost of M2 modules has generally skyrocketed across the world in the wake of the AI boom. For the foreseeable, it is going to be less costly to look around and source your own M2 drive from retailers who may still have stock from a time when their buy-in was lower.

Hi Stephen, this is indeed very interesting information. My ZenMini MK3 however is only 2 years old and I'm still using the SMPS that came with the unit. An upgrade to the LPSU is above my budget. Would an upgrade to the new SMPS tha coms with the Stream1 be an option to improve sound quality of the ZenMini? You state that the new SMPS is of a better quality due to its built-in noise filtering. If so, I'm curious to know how much this would cost and if it's worth the investment. Or would an Sbooster (or other third party LPSU) upgrade be the better solution?
