A stream1 would leave me with a spare zen mini. Currently, I use two first gen rendus as endpoints for a headphone station and a second system, and have been thinking of replacements. Used as an endpoint, would the zen mini be an improvement. At the least, I would be able to use spdif/, optical whereas the rendus only deliver usb.

/SSD mostly which optional board should I get for Stream1? Phoenix USB or SPDIF for connecting either to Denafrips Pontus15th or Laiv micro DAC? I am relatively new to this and not sure if Phoenix USB benefit is mostly for the streaming signal or would it also be beneficial for files stored and played from the SSD?
My use-case is 90-95% ripped files and the rest is internet radio.

I have not had first-hand experience with the Rendus, but since you own both a Rendu and a ZENmini you can test the playback output on both and see which you prefer. If you think the ZENmini sounds better then yes, you could get a Stream1 and have 2 Innuos players rather than 2 Rendus. The Stream1 could be main server and player to one system, and ZENmini an endpoint to the other system!
PhoenixUSB will benefit absolutely everything output by the Innuos, so is still absolutely relevant to files stored internally on an SSD. You do not have to get a Stream1 with a module fitted in it right away, you could add the PhoenixUSB at a later date if needed, but it would certainly improve sound either way.
Is fitting the module an easy plug and play ans DIY? If I do not get PhoenixUSB from the start, what are my options? Is there a standard USB slot available?
Certainly, the standard USB ports can be used just as they always have with our previous products - for this reason they actually still perform really well, its just that the module approach really lets us push SQ up to 'the next level'.
The module should ideally be fitted by your dealer, we have instructions for this. Essentially, just a couple of cables to connect and a few screws to remove/rescrew. Point being, it does not need to come back to Innuos to be performed.
For a day or two, the Pulse Series was listed in discontinued products on Innuos website, but no longer. It is back in the list of current products and only the Zen series are listed as discontinued... Still curious about the positioning of the product lines...
This was actually pre-scheduled for PULSE into discontinued after Stream was announced and when the 20% Multiroom offer expired on the 15th. However, we do have some stock remaining so for now are keeping it active. However, this is the final remaining stock which is finite, so when its gone it will be fully moved to discontinued like Mk3 is (of which there is zero stock and is totally unavailable).
The PULSE series remains a good option as an endpoint especially, and in particular the PULSEmini at its price point, but yes in essence it will not be renewed or continued as Stream series can indeed fill this role thanks to its modular design.
Is it correctly understood that if I want to buy Stream1 or with Stream3 with M2 NMVe SSD storage 2TB pre installed, it will cost around 350-400 EURO?
as I have seen prices in dollars it was around 7300 dollars for a bare stream3 => close to 6400 euro, and then add the cost of output modules an storage (in denmark around 1450 euro for usb lite and 2tb internal ssd, based on prices for adding to a zen ng) giving a total 8750 euro) below from uk

The final official photography is still underway, but the rear of a Stream3 will look the same as a PULSAR except that one of the main USB ports is now a USB-C type instead. This is similar with respects to Stream1 and a PULSEmini, although the Stream1 now has the area for the output module.
The slot for the SSD is on the underside of our devices, so is not visible from the rear.
