I bought a used ZenMini Mk3. The seller did a full reset and the System Name in Sense3 software under “system” says: “Zen Mini Mk.3 Music Server”. However when I browse for media servers in my WiiM Pro Plus software the ZenMini shows up as “Sally’s Bedroom System” where Sally is the name of the previous owner (name changed to protect privacy but you get the picture). I can’t find this name anywhere in the Sense 3 Software. It seems that maybe when the System name gets changed the new name is also assigned to a variable somewhere that gets used as the LMS identifier, but that variable doesn’t get reset when the system is reset.
Hmmm, now that I say that I’m going to try changing the Zen Mini System name in Sense 3, maybe that will trigger the LMS name to change too….Yup! that did it. I added my first name to the end of the System name and then saved it. I closed and reopened the WiiM app and the Server name showing up there now matches the System Name in the Sense 3 software.
I’m going to post this even though I just solved my own problem so anyone else struggling with it might find this work-around. Perhaps the Innuos team can also look into resetting the LMS name variable (wherever that is stored) when the unit is reset to factory.
