Error 51 when copying files from Mac to Zenith Mk III Auto Import folder

Solution
And the solution is (drum roll please)………..

Add the remote mounted folder, in this case the Innuos device Auto Import, to the Trusted Files list in Intego’s Virus Barrier software which eliminates the Error 51’s which were interrupting Mac-Auto Import file/folder copying.

I suppose not a ‘true fix’ as the user still has to do the above step, however, as a fuss free workaround it’s fine.

Hi J, I updated my MacBook to 15.1.1 last evening and this morning I was able to copy a folder containing flac files of an album from the MacBook to the Innuos Zen Mk3. The mac shows the auto import folder as a sharepoint and the mac was able to do the copy using the Guest account of the Zen.

Thanks for that, I was on the point of trying to roll a Mac back to MacOS 14 to prove whether or not it was a MacOS issue, obviously not, which implies it must be my Zenith Mk III does it not, bearing in mind that I have 2 MacBooks which behave identically.

What don’t understand is why I am able to copy 1 or 2 files at a time but not whole folders and I can create folders in Auto Import from my Mac so it doesn’t appear to be a permissions issue within the Guest account Possibly a networking issue????

I am STUMPED ☹️.

And now we know……

I downloaded Teracopy from the Mac App Store (free) and used it to copy an album folder containing both FLAC’s and MP3’s to Auto Import…….

It identified two hidden .DS_store files which failed to copy which, I’m guessing, cause the Error 51, the remaining files, the music files, being copied successfully.

Why this happens on my Mac’s and not on @malfordlad I have no idea, unless it’s related to my use of Intego av and firewall software. And I still can’t find those hidden files using Std Mac techniques.

Hi J,

The folder I copied has a .DS_store file in the source directory, but this hidden file is not copied to the auto-import folder. One of the flac files I copied has attributes on the source file, but the destination file does not have the attributes. Regards, M
