hello, have downloaded the new Ormandy Boxset Columbia Stereo Collection 64-83, there are 94 Cds.
how would be the best way to import the boxset properly, any ideas or recommendations please?

This is question of how you want it to appear in the library. There are no real limitations from the Innuos side; import it how you wish (Auto Import, USB import, drag and drop from USB etc). You could have all 94 discs listed under one big album which is perhaps the 'correct' way to do it, or you could have each disc as individual albums, though that does mean having 94 entries into the list of ALBUMs. It depends how you would prefer to navigate.

thank you. is it possible to merge albums after importing them?
94 discs under one big album would be nice, but what about the 94 different covers for each album?

Yes you could merge them all after importing them.
You cannot have different artwork covers for each disc when they are under one main album listing. So if you want different artwork covers for each disc, best to keep each one as a separate album
