Zenith MK 3 and Klimax DSM/2

Hi,
I want to use my Zenith MK3 as ripper / storage but use my Linn Klimax DSM/2 as the music player / preamp.

Would the Zenith be the server and the Linn the streamer?

Connection would be USB, Im a bit confused as to the optimal settings on the Zenith in order to do this, any advice appreciated.

You would not need a USB connection between the two products if the Innuos is only server, just a network connection for file transfers from the ZENith to the Linn.
If you used the USB out of the Innuos, then it would be server AND streamer, leaving the Linn as DAC/Preamp.
There are differences implied not just for which control app would be responsible, but also in potential sound quality.
