♦️THE FUSE HOLDER ♦️
@Stephen Healy
@DanCollier
I have a question about it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In all InnuOs products,.the same Fuse Holders are used.
PURE RUBBISH,.in my opinion..!!
In my case,.I have a special (and very good) installation-powercable from my fusebox in the house to the music system.
Then an expensive power strip,.and from that an expensive and proven powercable to my Statement NG.
This power cable is connected to the InnuOs IEC-socket...
AND,.then the electricity will go via this garbage to the right and left in the picture, further into the InnuOs streamer.
♦️ WHY..??
The Question Goes To InnuOs:
------------------------------------------------
Isn't there really,.anything else of higher quality to use here, than this Pure Garbage..!!
▪️Example:
When I have evaluated the direction of the fuse for the best sound quality...
SO,.it has sometimes happened that I have had to bend out the "sleds" to the right and left of the fuse holder (see picture) because there was no contact.
This has happened on my...
• Phoenix USB reclocker
• Zen mk3
• Zenith mk3
So far not on my Statement NG.
Are there no better solutions to this,. than this garbage on such expensive products..??
BELOW, regarding the Direction of the Fuse
for Best Soundquality.
The fuse value (2A 250V) on the InnuOs original fuse,.should be according to the Red Dot in the picture for best soundquality.
The picture shows the Synergistic Research best fuse,.Master Fuse.
If you enlarge the picture, you will see that S should be outwards (red dot) for best soundquality.
R = into the fuse holder.
No response/comment yet from InnuOs representatives.
BUT,.posted a similar thread in an InnuOs group on Facebook, where a member has reported major problems with his fuse holder on his Zenith mk3.
They're response was regarding difficulty in removing and I do understand some find it quite tight to remove. But on the FB post someone also said they had no issue at all.
My understanding is that there will be quite a different fuse chamber for the Nazaré but this is mostly on account of it having two large toroidals, so will need two fuses.
As for the existing designs, I'd need to ask as this is not something that has been raised before but my perception was that our design was quite similar to many other products. What are the designs used by other components in your system?
Hi Stephen 🙂...
Once you've done it a few times, you'll learn the trick to easily get the fuse holder out.
But at one point the metal slide on one side of the fuse holder broke for me,.see picture.
This was last summer for my Zenith mk3.
@Niall then referred me to a woman (Olga) at your Support,.who quickly helped me get a new one.
Many thanks to Olga if she reads this.
Considering my example,.my impression is that it is definitely not the best quality of your fuse holders, despite being otherwise a formidable product.
What are the designs used by other components in your system?
In my second picture you see an example of another fuse holder for my hifi-products.
One like the one in the picture is in my separate DC3 powersupply from Sean Jacobs,.as well as in my Pura Ammonite Elite switch.
This model is significantly better in my opinion,.as the fuse is pushed into a metal holder on each side when the fuse holder is closed.
In other words, it becomes a much better and safer contact.
As I wrote earlier,.I had to bend out the metal slides on each side of the fuse holder to make electrical contact, after turning the original fuse in the holder on two occasions.
As you probably understand,.this does not create any trust, as I have such nice power connection products before my InnuOs products, which I have previously reported.
