SmartQ

Thx for the update. Much appreciated.

Btw, the Tidal Connect radio function does not work with Innuos Sense. I’ve checked online and Tidal says not all Tidal Connect implementations support its radio function. For example, when using Tidal’s Connect radio function on my KEF LSX’s it works fine but not with my Innuos Statement (where it stops playing once the last song in the Tidal Connect queue is finished).
We may be conflating two slightly different features; Artist Radio via TIDAL Connect does work, but Autoplay does not, you're correct.
SmartQ in Sense will function as an 'Autoplay' type of function, not Artist Radio function.

Hi @Stephen Healy
Tried SmartQ today , I set the bar to allow only new music, chose my playlist and let it run. At the end of the playlist SmartQ added the 5 tracks but they are only samples, so play 30sec and jump to next track. Is this by design or is there another setting that needs adjusting??
Cheers.

That is a separate issue related to Qobuz - have you double checked your Qobuz account is fully active in terms of subscription? If so, please try removing Qobuz from the system then re-adding again.

Logging out and back in of Qobuz fixed within Sense fixed it , thank you Stephen.
Can you give any insight as how the algorithm works in choosing the next 5 tracks?
I’ve attached the initial playlist and expanded list …… quite a difference in genre and composition, but fun all the same.

If you get the 30 second sample issue with Qobuz again, please do let me know before you try any solutions to fix it. Its a known issue thats incredibly intermittent and we cannot replicate it. It would be great to do a remote session on your system whilst you have the issue occuring so we can test and find a solution for it.

How are you all finding SmartQ so far?

While I can't share specific details about the algorithm itself, I can tell you that SmartQ is influenced by the last tracks added to your queue.

It's important to remember that SmartQ is simply an algorithm. Its aim is to continue playing music that aligns broadly with what you've recently listened to. Depending on whether your queue consists of tracks from your Sense library or newer material, the algorithm selects music from different sources. The only supported streaming services for SmartQ are Tidal & Qobuz, it does not include content from any other service.

Of course SmartQ will not please everyone, which is why we have the options to adjust the levels of music from either your Sense library or new content.

Have you adjusted the settings from the default ‘Balanced’ mode to better suit your own tastes or left it as is?
Is the music you're getting feeling too predictable or repetitive?

Naturally, this feature will continue to evolve and improve over time.

Hi Dan, thank you for the heads up and if it occurs again I’ll contact you here. A remote session would be easy to facilitate.

When I’ve used it I put it 100% to the internet.
You say “last tracks” , can you say how many of the tracks in the queue are used for the new compilation of tracks?
I’ll play some more over the coming week.
Cheers.

Love the idea of Smart Q... as a Tidal user, this is a feature I've been waiting for! Appreciate the thought around music discovery, and the ability to tune the music suggestions from your own library (great when you have a large library) versus your streaming services.
However.... it would be useful to understand the algorithm a bit more... from what I've experienced the music is often not related in anyway that I understand, for example I've had 50s rock'n'roll added to a progressive dance queue... or heavy metal added to an easy listening queue, which I doesn't appear to be musically similar, and the songs are not of the same genre etc. Is SmartQ looking at broader listening history than just the current queue..?
Other people have had similar experiences - some feedback captured in this thread here https://community.innuos.com/threads/zenith-mk3-strange-behaviour.491/#post-3491
Would love the ability to help fine tune the algorithm in some way. Thanks for listening!

I'm sure SmartQ will be a continuous process and get tweaks/adjustments in the future, but as Dan says generally it will pull relevant music from all the tracks that were most recently added to the queue before that queue then runs out. So, the greater variety of tracks that were just added, the more variation you will get in related artists and genres that will play. It could be possible that there are one or two 'flukes' where, for example, a dance track could be a cover of a song from a totally different genre but is still credited to the original artist as a contributor, and then starts playing from that composer - I'm thinking along the lines of a dance/lounge remix of Satellite of Love (originally by Lou Reed), then suddenly you are listening to The Velvet Underground etc...

I've seen (heard!) what appears to be some strange results... but I'll do some more listening and post a few examples for feedback if useful. I saw the other comment on smart mixes... (also a great addition by the way!).. perhaps a consideration would be, to extend these smart mixes to randomly select from a streaming catalogue if desired, rather than only whats in the users library / virtual library.

First few days I had some weird changes but found as time goes on things are much more what I'd expect. Although maybe that misses the point if set to all new?!?
