Qobuz connect on Pulsar - control issues

Hi, I have just updated to Sense 3.3 and have Pulsar operating in standalone mode.

Since I use Qobuz exclusively, I also updated the Qobuz app on Android and was able to connect to the Pulsar which has a USB DAC connected. At first, everything seemed to work fine, but it seems that many many files just will not send to the Pulsar (they work with other devices on the network, but for Pulsar "an error occurred").

The files that don't work are coincidentally all in my favourites within Qobuz and all in my music library in Sense. Any new files, such as those found on the "Discovery" section of Qobuz, seem to work fine. I have tried delete album queue cache in Sense to no avail..

I also had an issue switching back from Qobuz to Sense - with both apps open on the android device and the Pulsar playing over Qobuz connect, the Pulsar initially did not accept any command from Sense and would not play, even when I closed the Qobuz app. That happened last night and seems to be intermittent as I have Sense working OK this morning, with or without control from Qobuz connect, and no other changes other than deleting play queue cache.

All comments in context of a very robust, dedicated and hard wired network.

Hey Freddie,

That is odd indeed, this issue has not been reported from our 3.3 Beta testers, nor during our testing. However, as Qobuz Connect itself is still in Beta, some potential issues are to be expected.
Are you able to play music from Qobuz within your library or favourites without any problems in Sense? Is the issue occurring only when trying to play the same tracks directly through the Qobuz app? What happens if you remove the affected tracks from your library, play them outside of it successfully, and then re-add them?

I would recommend power cycling both your system and your phone. It may also be worth rebooting your router as a precaution.

If it persists, get in touch with support and send over your system logs - support@innuos.com

Hi Dan, thanks for reply - so far everything works perfectly in Sense whether albums are in my library or not. Everything also works perfectly in the Qobuz app on all other devices. Using Qobuz connect to Pulsar, initially it looked as certain albums would not play IF they were also in my Sense library. However I am able to replicate the issue if I remove said files from my library, or when I disconnect the Qobuz streaming account from within Sense. I can also play a Qobuz-generated playlist, and I see some tracks play and many, many tracks being skipped, some of which are in my library and some of which are not. The same playlist is perfect in Sense.

I have been unable to find any problem playing from Qobuz Discovery section - all albums work fine using Connect. It is when I use the Library section, or search function or Qobuz playlists, I see the issue. For example certain artists like Yello - if I bring up their artist page, I can successfully play the first 3-4 albums, listed, then subsequent albums simply won't play. I can replicate this with many artists, this issue is not a few bad or missing links.

I have just tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Qobuz app version 9.0.0.2, which now seems to be the full version, no longer showing as Beta on my Android device. I have power cycled both Android and Pulsar, I have disconnected and reconnected the Qobuz account within Sense and restarted Sense. I have tried an alternative Android phone on the same network. Nothing seems to work so far.

Yes Dan I have just tried Qobuz connect on a Wiim pro and it is fine. I tried several specific albums that won't stream to the Pulsar and they all work fine. I'll send you a log shortly.
I mean Qobuz Connect using the Qobuz app on desktop for example to see if we can isolate it to the mobile app perhaps. I shall look out for the logs.

Hi Dan,

I have now tested Qobuz connect on Android - successfully controls a windows 10 laptop with known "problem" albums. Conversely, I can also control the Android device from the Win 10 laptop, on same files, so no apparent problems there.

I can control the Pulsar from the Win 10 laptop but replicated the same issues as reported above.

Interestingly I am not able to download the system logs to any connected device - it appears to be working but eventually it times out after many attempts on different connected devices.

I'm not so concerned right now as Sense app is great and in SQ terms there is not much if anything in it, but it would be nice to understand what is happening.
