Possible to use Auto-Import to unpack music files that were compressed in .rar format?

I was offered a free update of a recording that I had previously purchased from "The Audiophile Society" (David Chesky). The downloaded file went directly to my MacBook Air's "Downloads" folder in the compressed .rar format (the file itself being in WAV format). From there I moved it to the "Auto Import" folder on my Statement. The import seemed to go normally, but, as there is no feedback to the user regarding the status/success of an import using "Auto Import," I just had to assume that it went correctly.

Through the search function, I can see the three previous versions on this recording (DSD64, HD192, and HD96). But, I've been unable locate the new, WAV version. I'm wondering if the .rar compression is the problem. Thoughts?

To my knowledge Auto Import is not compatible with .rar compressed files. (However it is compatible with .zip files.)

On your Mac, you need to unzip the .rar file first. Then copy the unzipped WAV file to the Auto Import folder.
