Playlist Shuffle Not Working

Have a couple of playlists with over 500 tracks. Starting within the last couple of days when I attempt to shuffle either of those two playlists, I can see that only 2 tracks end up in my queue. Before that, I had used the shuffle option on those same playlists and everything worked fine (I listened to about an hour of that playlist every day over a 3 to 4 week period...no problems). It does appear that the problem started immediately after the installation of 3.2.1, but I wouldn't swear by it.

How can I fix this?

Good morning, Stephen. I am using a Windows 11 PC with Chrome. My phone is still doing things correctly, but Chrome is mangling the Queue displayed at xxx.xxx.xxx:9000 Thank you for any help.

The fact that it seems to work fine on your mobile devices, but not via desktop browser suggests this may be something quite specific to the browser than the server. We have been trying for awhile to replicate this and so far cannot recreate the issue as you describe. If the problem persists, perhaps send a copy of the system logs to us at support@innuos.com

Hi
I have the same/similar issue that started roughly begin/mid Feb.
Mixed Qobuz/Rip playlist, and Qobuz only playlists, won’t play throughout on shuffle, sometimes stopping after just a few tracks.
You get them going again by pressing play but at some stage they stop again.
Opening Sense app shows the track trying to play, with the timer starting and then flipping back to beginning, with no sound output during this time.
It would get stuck doing this until you intervene.
Even playing mixed playlists, or Qobuz playlists in order (not shuffle) - they still ‘choke’ at some stage but less than on shuffle.
The only way to guarantee playing a complete playlist is ripped tracks in the original order.
Pretty frustrating……
I’d like to share please any solution when they find one for you.
Zen mini 3 plus PS, iPhone running Sense.
Best regards Steve

Can you let me know if you are on Sense 3.2.5, and if you are outputting to a DAC/Amp or do you use SenseUPnP?

Good morning Stephen
Thank you for your quick reply.
Yes I’m on 3.2.5
I’m in standalone mode connecting via usb to the DAC on a Marantz Ki Ruby SACD player.
It was perfectly fine until around the time you fixed my unconnected 50% volume drop issue - beginning of Feb.
I lived with it until now as updates and feedback on here suggested similar issues were being addressed with further updates.

This sounds potentially connected, to Qobuz then. Could you perform a RESYNC on the Settings under Streaming Services for Qobuz, then go back to some of those playlists to see if any of the tracks have become unavailable?
Also, as an experiment, could you please go to MUSIC -> QOBUZ to browse their current selection of curated playlists, and try shuffle playing one of those to see if the issue persists?

Hi Stephen
Thanks for this.
I’ve Resynced Qobuz and will test existing and new playlists as you suggest and will return back with the results.
Incidentally I did my own housekeeping previously as follows:
1. If a playlist stopped I logged another device in to Qobuz to see if the track had been removed and sometimes it had - but generally if a track had been removed by Qobuz then Sense just jumped over it and the next track played. So with a removed track sometimes it stopped and sometimes it leapt over it.
2. Suspicious that removed tracks were also causing choking, where the timer moves forward and jumps back repeatedly, I again logged another device in to Qobuz and found the exact track. In every case the other device played it successfully, confirming the track was live and playable (as an individual track).
Fingers crossed the resync does the trick and I’ll report back either way.
Many thanks Steve

I am fully up to date in terms of Sense on my Zen MK3 and have a similar issue - I have some very long playlists of over 9 hours of material - mix of Tidal, Qobuz and local content and lately when I shuffle play these playlists they stop after playing a few tracks for no reason. Can Innuos HQ please look into this? I know some of the track links no longer work but Sense always used to just skip the track when this happened. Has this behaviour changed now so it can cause playback to halt? @Stephen Healy

There has been a few reports of this and believe it is an issue whereby, as you say, the player comes to a stop rather than skipping. This is now added on the Known Issues but is already being looked into by the development team.
