    Zenith Mk3 strange behaviour

To be quite plain, having parameters such as 'by the same artist' or 'in the same genre' (determined from metadata), 'with the same beat', '...the same instrumentation' (not so simple) and so on would be more useful to someone like me than current (hidden?) criteria. It might also be interesting...

    Zenith Mk3 strange behaviour

That part of my question (1) that Stephen kindly answered by alerting me to Smart Q was actually about how that entity determines what is 'similar'. It seems to me that there is nothing similar about the rap music of Johnny Castaneda Jr. a.k.a. Johnny Ca$h to Anouar Brahem's Arabic jazz. Clearly...

    Zenith Mk3 strange behaviour

Smart Q, not so smart me. I saw it, turned it on to see what would happen. I did see but didn't make the connection. For my purposes in listening to music, Smart Q is of little interest. Technically, however, I brim over with questions. If you would, kindly point me to discussions of how it does...

    Zenith Mk3 strange behaviour

Two queries. (1) Last night my Zenith Mk3 initiated playing a rap album all by itself (on my Focus 10s). I was awakened, thought the neighbours were strangely arguing but found the Zenith responsible. Under what conditions would this happen? I also noticed later that after a track from an album...

    signal from Zenith III?

More on the above. My Focus 30s are about 2m apart, main on the right as advised, and are connected by a good cable. Most of the supporting power, digital audio and ethernet cables are crowded into a small cabinet space behind the TV, the Zenith in a cabinet below. Hence the setup is quite...

    signal from Zenith III?

Dear DK1106, Thanks for contacting me. I have attached the log file, following your helpful instructions. I'm of a geeky temperament but not accomplished in that domain :-). Under the influence of someone who likes power-conditioning apparatus and other Chord products, bit by bit I eliminated...

Hello. I seem to have replied to my own question somehow, and so left it open, on the Help Forum. When you have time, would you mind taking a look and giving what advice you can? Many thanks. Willard

    Files overwritten

A number of music files on my Zenith Mk III have been overwritten such that all attempts to play them produce only static. There was one local power outage a week or so ago, but as far as I can recollect I haven't tried to play these files since then. The damage is confined to about half a dozen...

    Editing a music library

Thank you. The depth pf my ignorance has been lessened somewhat. It seems I indulged in too much wishful thinking. CUEtools is my next stop.

    Editing a music library

I have an old collection of music files that when imported into my Zenith Mk 3 come with metadata in the form of .cue and .log files. From what I can tell, Sense does not recognise the .cue files. If it did, perhaps it would be clear what Sense regards as the 'artist', such as Francis Poulenc...

    Sense 1.5.0 (103)

Apologies if I am doing this the wrong way. This is about a peculiar multiple listing of my UPnP Streamer (Focus 10 speakers) multiple times under the Audio section of System in Sense 1.5.0. See the attached screenshot. The first item is from an earlier time when I was first setting things up...

    signal from Zenith III?

Physics indeed, but therein is the puzzle of the cause. Space is cramped (Victorian terraced style) so shielding has to be the answer. The superb Dynaudio is a sensitive creature!

    signal from Zenith III?

Dear Stephen, Thanks, and sorry for the delay in replying. I agree that the behaviour has to do with the Dynaudios, but (I am told by an advisor there) that this looks like a response to an illegitimate transient. I'm not saying (or thinking) that it comes from the Zenith, rather suggesting...

    signal from Zenith III?

Thanks. The dropouts always occur after the track has started playing. Elapsed time from the start of play varies; I observe no consistency in this. But the dropouts once begun always follow the same pattern and length: red light on the Focus steady for about 5 seconds, then slowly pulsing white...

    signal from Zenith III?

I should also have said that I've followed the interim upgrades in the Sense app. No complaints at all. One feature would be welcome: an option to start playing an album somewhere in the middle and have the playback go on automatically to the remaining tracks. I know there's a workaround, so...
