Dear community, I connected an external HDD with 3TB content in 2940 Folders. Import is not working, because after analysing it says "something went wrong, too low storage capacity on your system". Does anybody know, if there is a limit of folder numbers or so? BRGDS, Chris

Hi Chris,
Had a similar problem to yours a couple of years back.
Are you using the normal backup USB connection and secondly is the external HDD powered by a separate DC supply or not?
The cause of this may be the external HDD drawing too much current from the Zenith, I was informed by support people at Innuos that some external HDD can cause this problem if not powered by a separate external DC supply.
Sounds strange but try disconnecting the normal USB outlet cable and then connect the external HDD USB cable to that USB outlet connection and try USB import again.
It worked for me, can be fiddly disconnecting outlet USB cable depending on your unit's position.
Give it a try.

Regards
Stephen

Hi again,
Thank you for the info re separate DC supply.
You have not stated the size of the Zenith capacity, as the message you get implies the storage in the Zenith is either too small compared to the ext 3Tb HD or there is already files on the Zenith and the system thinks the extra files will not fit on the remaining storage.
You could try putting some of the files on a smaller ext HD, say 1Tb, then see if the Zenith will accept that. If it does then you may have to use the smaller HD but obviously that means extra tasks and time by transferring from the 3Tb HD.

Hi Stephen,
Oops, I was apparently wrong. Before I bought the Zenith, I only used a NAIM Uniti Nova. The external HDD connected to the NAIM kept the data on the hard drive, only the table of contents was imported, but the files remained on the HDD and were also played from there. Now my new Zenith works as a Roon Core and the Naim Uniti as a player. If the Innuos now wants to physically import the files from the external hard drive to the internal hard drive, this will of course not work, as the internal hard drive only has 2TB capacity. This seems to be the difference to the Naim, which plays the files directly from the external HDD. I could of course leave the external HDD connected to the Naim and play from there, but then the content would not appear in the Roon library. It's all a bit complicated :)
