What is the best way to tag calssical music? How do you handle composer, work, conductor, soloists? Any sugesstions please?

Sense provides for some limited ability to edit tags and information on albums, but I generally find it best to edit the metadata with an external editor such as Yate or Tag Editor on the Mac for example. There are dedicated, standard fields/tags for composer, conductor, album artist (only one will be shown by Sense), artists (they can all be shown, they should be separated by a ";") work and movement. (this can be done before importing int your library or even in the library, and Sense is very good at taking into account such changes).

In my view, currently, Sense is not very generous with classical music: only composer, artists and album artist are taken into account, and even there, not fully, as composer is not shown in "now playing" other than in "track credits". Conductor, work, movement are ignored while they were usable in LMS. However, it is still the best way to tag the tracks as it already provides useful capabilities in Sense such as browsing and searching by composer (for local tracks, it does not work for Qobuz tracks), information on composers and artists correctly shown on track credits, etc. Furthermore, there has been a dialog ongoing on the proper treatment of classical music in Sense and I expect that at some point the ability to browse or search by conductor, the display of composers and conductors in the now playing window for classical music and maybe the use of the works and movement fields will be added to Sense.

LMS 9 has done good progress in displaying options. In addition to allowing browsing by conductor and searches on classical fields as before, the browsing by works has been enhanced:
