Open CD ripping to external storage

It would be great to have the possibility to rip CD’s on the Pulsar using an USB connected cd player.
This is made slightly more complicated by the fact that the PULSAR has no native storage with which it can store the ripped files, so we would also need to develop means of having the ripped data sent to another external storage source like a NAS. Not impossible, but also not insignificant in terms of software development. The PULSE series was not designed with this kind of feature in mind, since at the time it was already natively offered with the MK3 series (and subsequently the STREAM series).

One other important distinction to make is that a conventional 'CD player' that appears to have a USB port will almost certainly not have ripping abilities; more likely that USB is port is actually a DAC input, or for uploading firmware updates, etc. It would very much need to be a 'USB optical drive', the type you would add to a laptop for example.
