How to setup storage in the ZEN NG to be treated as a 'NAS backup' destination for a zenith mk3

as I have allready restored backup to ng, i will: 1. Use a pc, to create a backup folde => ng/ unsorted/backup 2. Do the nas backup, new, from mk3, to this folder (the innuos creates an “id folder” and all folders/content based on the mk3/ music folder (this is a very time consuming backup...

How to setup storage in the ZEN NG to be treated as a 'NAS backup' destination for a zenith mk3

So your general recommendation to use restore to build a new Innuos is for users not keeping both servers, as I do. Is there any pitfalls in using backup to nas compared to the restore way, anyting I should be aware of or miss?.

New zen ng, import or usb ?

I will have a new zen ng shortly and have an existing zenith mk3 (to be used as ripper and NAS going forward). Initial load of the NG, one tb music, is there any difference in using a USB backup, or use the import function via network (sq/time/other)????

Correct, and SQ vise, zen NG is superior to stream3, and can be upgraded to a zenith NG (hieraki as I read it SQ vise; stream1, stream1+lpt1, stream3, zenNG, zenith NG and statement NG)

As a owner of zenith mk3 and phoenix usb, a very cost effektive sq upgrade could be, to buy a “bare” zen NG or stream3, as the player via the Phoenix usb and use the mk3 as a NAS/ripper . Then later, if needed to remove the mk3, the zen NG/stream3 can be fitted by me with 4tb m.2 NVme storage...
