When you're in standalone mode, are you able to access LMS? Add ":9000/default/settings/index.html" after the ip address for your system in a web browser. Show me what you get.

Funny you mention this, we will be launching a feature to combat this called SmartQ which will be launching imminently alongside Sense 3.3. This feature will allow your system to continue playing (if enabled) as well as tweak to your preference.

This was resolved with the update to 3.2.5.

The PhoenixDAC does come fit inside of the Stream 3 chassis. Because of the extra complexity and space it requires, this option is only available with the Stream 3 and isn’t compatible with the Stream 1.
